TIGER Gets Its Official Poster

Mary Aloe, Dan Grodnik, Howard Nash and Rocco Pugliese are proud to introduce the official TIGER poster. TIGER, starring Mickey Roarke, Janele Parish, Michael Pugliese and Prem Singh, is based on the true story of Pardeep Nagra, a boxer and practicing Sikh who was banned from the sport for refusing to back down from his spiritual and religious beliefs. As a consequence, his legacy will be forever tied to his two biggest battles: the one in the courtroom, the other in the ring.

Directed by Alister Grierson (SANCTUM), Tiger is an exciting film about a fighter who refuses to back down. Although the film is a commercial “fight” film, it remains a powerful, true story of a man who stands his ground – blending the excitement and energy of “Rocky” with the empathy and drama of “Million Dollar Baby”.

BEAST OF BURDEN with Daniel Radcliffe, Laurence Fishburne and Grace Gummer

BEAST OF BURDEN – action/thriller starring Daniel Radcliffe. I am pleased to announce we are in full principal photography in our studio in Savannah. Think “Phone Booth”, starring Colin Farrell -but Radcliffe in a plane. The rest of the cast is rounding out beautifully, as well – see yesterday’s Hollywood Reporter (below). Btw, this is the second movie our fund, WYSJ MEDIA has provided financing for a film together -I am happy to be leading the fund with my partner, Sean Glover, and with our partner, Wei Wang, in China. Bianca Goodloe you are amazing as our attorney – simply the best !

We will announce our domestic distributor soon, as they are firmly on board, as well. The filming is going so well, we have a very happy cast, director and crew, and the set is running like a fine old Rolex. This is a wonderful script by Adam Hoelzel and our director from Sweden, Jesper Ganslandt is truly amazing. Producing partners, Paul Schiff (our second movie together), Michael Diamond and Dan Reardon are incredible, along with our fearless leader on set, line producer, Rene Besson.

Next up in 2017 – – four more movies coming up and ready to go (one a quarter) – some in Georgia, Chicago, Vancouver, Cologne, and Paris. Excited, but definitely need a vacation!

Wrapped on the Movie COUP D’ETAT with Sir Michael Caine

Producer Mary Aloe and Sir Michael Caine on set in Savannah on Coup D’ Etat

Last night we wrapped Coup D’Etat! Our production was based on the incredible “black list” script comedy starring Sir Michael Caine, Katie Holmes, Odeya Rush, Jason Biggs and Seth Green. Written and directed by Lisa Addario and Joe Syracuse, it is the story of a young rebellious girl who writes a dictator in another country for a homework assignment. The dictator gets the letter while getting overthrown by his country and he ends up on her door step in America. At 83, Michael Caine is not only one of the most talented actors in the world, but a kind, eloquent – true English gentleman. Besides being a two time Oscar Winner, only he, along with Jack Nicholson, are the two actors that have been nominated for an Oscar every decade since they each started their careers. What is your favorite Michael Caine movie: “Cider House Rules”, “The Man Who Would Be King”, “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”, “Alfie”, “Blame It On Rio”, “Batman Begins” – there are so many!

Mary Aloe and Aloe Entertainment: TIGER Sizzle Reel / Trailer for Cannes

TIGER Sizzle Reel / Trailer for Cannes: http://wdrv.it/1rqfeju
use password “right2fight

From R3M Productions, in association with Grodnik/Aloe Productions, and producers Dan Grodnik and Mary Aloe, present a taste of TIGER directed by Aussie Alister Grierson (Sanctum). The movie stars Golden Globe Winner and Academy Award nominee Mickey Rourke and Prem Singh in the title role. As well Jenal Parrish (Pretty Little Liars) in the female leading role.  The Exchange, our foreign sales team, is on the ground at Cannes for our international distributors. Personally, I have had an affinity for Indian-based films (ie. SLUM DOG MILLIONAIRE, BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL I and II, and THE LUNCHBOX), so when the screenplay, PUNJAB TIGER, was brought to us with such relevant topics like racial profiling and standing up for one’s beliefs, we seized the opportunity to produce this important biopic on boxer, Pardeep Nagra. The story is one of pure faith in the boxing ring – to the courtroom.

‘Mothers and Daughters’

Selma Blair plays a rock photographer who is riding a career high when an unlikely and unexpected pregnancy forces her to turn her lens inward. As she slowly comes to terms with what it might mean to change her life forever, she discovers with fresh eyes her own relationship with her estranged mother. Courteney Cox, Christina Ricci, Susan Sarandon, Mira Sorvino and Sharon Stone also star. (PG-13 – 90 minutes)

So long as you go in understanding that “Mothers and Daughters” is more a series of insightful dialogues than it is a conventional narrative, you are likely to emerge satisfied and perhaps even a little emotionally enlightened. The thing that makes director Paul Duddridge’s new ensemble drama work is its exceptionally talented cast. Viewers become genuinely invested in each of these women’s stories because the sincerity of the actresses’ performances. Having said that, some viewers may become frustrated, finding the back-and-forth between the characters to be a bit on the monotonous side. (3 Stars)
